Originally founded by Quakers from the US, the population of Monteverde take huge pride in the nature that surrounds them making it one of Costa Rica’s premier eco-tourism destinations. As well as the cloud Forest reserve there is also a charming Butterfly Garden where you can see many endemic species in their full glory.
