Middle Gobi (1N) - Bayanzag (1N) - Yolyn Am (1N) - Khongoryn Els (2N) - Kharkhorin (1N)
  • Day 1
    Ulaanbaatar to Middle Gobi
    Day 1: Ulaanbaatar to Middle Gobi

    You will be met at your Ulaanbaatar hotel and transferred to Middle Gobi. Along the way visit Baga Gazriin Chuluu Lake and the ruins of the 10th-century Sum Khukh Burd Temple. (L,D)

  • Day 2
    Middle Gobi to Bayanzag
    Day 2: Middle Gobi to Bayanzag

    Continue on to South Gobi Desert. Visit the Sangiin Dalai Temple before arriving at the Ger camp at Bayanzag. (B,L,D)

  • Day 3
    Bayanzag to Yolyn Am
    Day 3: Bayanzag to Yolyn Am

    Visit the famous Flaming Cliffs at Bayanzag, the site of numerous fossil discoveries. Continue to the Yol Valley National Park and hike to the gorge and glacier. (B,L,D)

  • Day 4
    Yolyn Am to Khongoryn Els
    Day 4: Yolyn Am to Khongoryn Els

    Drive to Khongoryn Els. Visit a camel breeding family and walk on the famous Singing Sand Dunes. (B,L,D)

  • Days 5-6
    Khongoryn Els to Kharkhorin
    Days 5-6: Khongoryn Els to Kharkhorin

    Travel to Ongiin Khiid and visit the ruins of a monastery. (B,L,D) The next day, travel to the ancient city of Kharkhorin. (B,L,D)

  • Day 7
    Kharkhorin to Ulaanbaatar

    Visit Erdene Zuu, once one of Mongolia's largest monasteries. Visit the ruins of Kharkhorin, the 13th-century imperial capital of the Mongol Empire. Return to your Ulaanbaatar hotel where your arrangements end on arrival. (B,L)
