The largest outdoor museum in Taiwan to display the traditional homes and architecture of Taiwanese indigenous tribes. It also serves as an amusement park with the tallest free fall ride on the island.
Tucked within the picturesque mountains of Taiwan, west of Taichung, is Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village. This hidden gem may well occupy the best theme park in Asia! The drive showcases distinct lovely vistas with windy roads through tall treescapes. Within the village is the Theme Park, home to a collection of beautifully designed rides and architectural theming, not to mention the centerpiece – the waterslide! The ‘walk-through’ village allows a glimpse into the way of life of Taiwan’s Aboriginal people, the main population before the Chinese migrated from the mainland. Learn how villagers made their daily lives for thousands of years. There are several clusters that demonstrate the lifestyles of different tribes from the island.
Much like the rest of the park, the village was created at an extremely detailed level. The houses are made of hand-split logs and show scenes of daily life as well as beautiful artefacts. Walking into the structures, visitors breathe in and smell the wood, some of which is hundreds of years old.
Admire the scenery one the transparent crystal cable car ride as you float through the air travelling between Sun Moon Lake and the park.
