China's borders are set to re-open!

BREAKING NEWS: China is back!

Following a long-awaited announcement from the Chinese Government, the borders to China are set to re-open and travel will resume for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic. It has been confirmed that the China consulate will commence issuing visas! We will keep you updated of details and entry requirements as they become available.

Many of us have been waiting to hear these magical words, with most of our travel plans going on hold for almost 3 years. We are looking forward to returning to our favourite destination!

Fantastic news from Japan, hold onto your seats!

We are receiving very encouraging news from our sources in Japan regarding the reopening, here is what we know:

- From next month Japan will be increasing their entry cap to allow 20,000 travellers to enter Japan from low-risk Covid destinations, which includes Australia.

- The Japanese government have confirmed travel will first commence with organised escorted tours.

- There are trial tour groups who are currently exploring the country on fixed itineraries, accompanied by a guide, with the last groups to depart Japan by early June.

This incredible news is a huge step in the right direction, as Japan could open to tourists in time for the Autumn leaves season later this year.

Laos open to travellers

There has been some great news from Southeast Asia with Laos announcing the easing of entry travel requirements. Laos is now officially open to fully vaccinated travellers with no testing or quarantine required.

The Australian Government have just announced they are set to relax their travel requirements for fully vaccinated travellers, advising that from April 18 travellers will no longer require a COVID-19 test to enter Australia.

South Korea reopens borders

In exciting news South Korea has announced plans to reopen borders to fully vaccinated foreign tourists from 1 April. More details are still to be released but it has been confirmed travellers will no longer need to isolate on arrival in the country.

South Korea has joined a number of Asian nations who are opening their borders for international travel in 2022 including Cambodia, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Sri Lanka.

Malaysia reopens 1 April

Hanging to visit Borneo?

Well we have some good news for you!
Malaysia has announced they will be reopening to international visitors from 1 April 2022.
The Malaysian Prime Minister stated that despite the ongoing situation with the Omicron variant he has made the decision to open international borders due to the country’s high vaccination rate, small percentage of serious cases and the hospital system coping well with minimal beds occupied by COVID patients.
More details are still to be announced however the news has been met with celebration in Malaysia with next week marking two years since the closure of the country’s borders.

Vietnam announces plans to reopen 15 March

Vietnam has finalised a plan to fully reopen its borders to foreign tourists from 15 March, as it looks to accelerate its economic recovery and revive a battered tourism sector.

"The approval is in accordance with the government's new responses to the pandemic, which are adapting safely and flexibly and controlling the virus effectively," the government said in a statement.

Starting March 15, it is expected that visitors to Vietnam will still have to undergo a one-day quarantine and test negative for COVID-19 before departure and upon arrival.

Vietnam will reopen three months earlier than planned even as coronavirus cases surge.

It follows similar reopening steps taken by other Southeast Asian countries like Thailand and the Philippines, where the Omicron COVID-19 variant has caused a recent spike in new infections, but fewer hospitalisations and deaths than previous variants.

Full entry requirements for travellers are being finalised and we will bring you the latest information and requirements once confirmed.
