Visiting the Silk Road was like a lifelong dream and with the blink of eyes my wish had come true exploring one of the hidden gem of Central Asia - Uzbekistan

What I was expecting was a bumpy ride in the middle of the Deserts and Mountains along the Silk Road but this turned out to be as smooth as SILK - a memorable trip of a lifetime beyond my imagination and which exceeded all my expectations!

It was an absolutely excellent experience with memories that will last a lifetime. It was a fantastic, well organised and seamless tour made exceptional by the hard work of a dedicated team. Wendy Wu's Team were magnificent in planning an amazing tour culminating in my safe return home. The Travel Consultants are friendly, knowledgeable and very professional in portraying it's Owner Wendy Wu's passion, enthusiasm and offering a unique travel experiences.

The detailed itineraries were a wonderful mix of must see sites and unexpected experiences such as crossing the ancient cities and towns rich in Islamic Architectures, Archaeological, historical and cultural excursions and littered with free time to absorb the most of these fascinating destinations.

The Hotels were of high quality standards and unique in its own ways!

What can I say about the Culinary experiences - Throughout the Tour we experienced and enjoyed varieties of breakfasts at the Hotels, Lunches and Dinners with the Locals enjoying their delicious homemade Uzbecki food & flavours with exceptional, humble and considerate hospitality especially being a vegetarian like me, I felt I was really well looked after.

Our Local guide Marat was very professional with excellent historical knowledge, fantastic customer services, always eager to help at every step of the journey and with great sense of humour. Marat was always happy to answer my " Million dollar" questions without hesitations, with positive attitude and always had a good focus and attention to details no matter how minute this may appear at all stages of the journey - be it Hotel check in, comfort breaks dietary requirements to endless lists of the fellow travellers!

Our Driver was very friendly and made us feel welcoming and at home ensuring the safest Driving experience ever through landscapes, deserts and rugged mountains.

The Silk Road Explorer is an amazing tour. The trip of a lifetime. The National Guide, Mark Wang, was brilliant. He understood our group and it’s prferences, went well beyond the call of duty to make sure we had the best experience. The local guides were also helpful and informative. We could never have put together such a great series of daily experiences ourselves. We really would recommend Wendy Wu for the overall experience and the efficient problem free service.

It may not have been the cheapest choice of tour operator but it was totally value for money; so many different experiences, good food, comfortable hotels and spectacular service from the guides.

Service rating :

Going with a tour company like Wendy Wu always gives you a good service, quality hotels and local guides but the main reason this tour was so outstanding was due to their national guide David He who was was with us for 12 hours a day or more on some days for a total of 26 days and always maintained a balance between professional service and being a good companion along the way. He had a very good command of English and could relate well to western humour.

I chose this tour as it provided a well planned and varied itinerary of the Silk Road in China from Xian to Kashgar over 3,000km with 13 different hotels in 26 days, 4 bullet trains and and two internal flights plus 3 meals a day and local door to door transport and local guides but what made it so enjoyable was having an excellent national guide David He who was with us all the way to smooth out any difficulties.
